Batang Hari

Batang Hari (or River Day) is the longest river in the island of Sumatra, about 800 km. Eyes water from Mount violence (2585 m), and that becomes the upstream of the Batang Hari is up to the lake over, which is now signed to Kabupaten Solok, West Sumatra province, and flows south to Ceiling River region, before turning to eastwards. The flow of this river through several areas in the province of West Sumatra and Jambi provinces, such as South Solok Regency, Regency Dharmasraya, Bungo, Tebo Regency, Batang Hari, Jambi City, Jambi and District Muaro East Tanjung Jabung, before off to the waters east of Sumatra near the Muara Sabak.

In Batang Today there are many other rivers that empty Sangir him among Trunk, the Batang Tebo, Rod Tembesi, and others. This river system brings many gold deposits, so there is a legendary name Swarnadwipa ("island of gold") is given in Sanskrit for the island of Sumatra.
